Asenovgrad – City Center Renovation
Project Description
As part of the conceptual design for the renovation and reconstruction of Acad. Nikolay Haytov Square and the main pedestrian street in the area, a reorganization of both transportation and pedestrian zones is planned.
The bridge axis connects the square with the library area, emphasizing the walkway leading to the main pedestrian street. The vertical landscaping around the main walkway is designed to direct visitors’ views toward the "stage" at Acad. Nikolay Haytov Square. The square will retain its two-level structure, with the stage located on the first level. The second level will feature a playground and a skate park, both integrated into an amphitheater-style seating area.
South of the bridge, a parallel pedestrian alley will lead to the river. Along the riverbank, built-in seating will offer visitors a scenic view of the water. Information boards will be placed in front of the historical museum and the tourist center. Additionally, a lapidarium is planned in front of the historical museum.
